The BBC School News Report is a
fantastic project designed by
the BBC to help develop skills in
journalism.
On the 26th of March
Johnstone High Journalists will use
their newly acquired skills to help
them broadcast the news. With
individual job titles, the team will
work together to research, write and
assemble news they think you need
to know.
Their articles will be broadcast
from the 4pm deadline on this website
which will be linked to the BBC News
homepage.

BBC JOURNALIST VISITS SCHOOL TO FILM TV REPORT
The Johnstone High Journalists
have been working with the
professionals to help them develop
their skills in journalism.
Earlier in the year BBC broadcaster
Hayley Jarvis visited the pupils
to help them develop a television
report which was fimed on the 26th
of February.
The enthusiastic team decided to
report on the 33 period week proposal
for Renfrewshire schools.
The pupils then put their skills into
action by researching the issue;
contacting potential interviewees;
setting up interviews; considering
background visuals; developing open
and follow up questions as well as
writing a script and memorising it to
the required 3 words a second standard!
